GCash breaches P500B gross transaction value in March 2022, sees sustained growth

GCash has sustained its market dominance as the country’s number one finance app, breaching the P500-billion mark in Gross Transaction Value in March 2022 alone.

GCash user engagement continues to thrive even as the world opens up, showing that it has become a major part of people’s everyday lives. Active GCash users are now 5x larger than the next e-wallet, with daily logins and transactions of up to 29 million and 19 million, respectively.

Eighty-three percent of the Philippine adult population, or 60 million Filipinos, already have a GCash account, further inspiring the popular e-wallet platform to look for more innovative solutions to address various financial needs of the public.

Globe, UnionBank ink alliance on info sharing to fight online banking fraud

Leading Philippine digital technology companies Globe and UnionBank recently inked an agreement to provide mutual support on investigations involving online banking fraud.

The alliance, the first of its kind in the country today, covers information sharing among others. 

Under the agreement signed on March 24, Globe will provide UnionBank information about mobile numbers potentially used by fraudsters to help in online banking fraud investigations. This will help Globe detect illicit activity within its network. UnionBank for its part, will likewise trigger and share relevant information necessary to pursue investigations in accordance with the Data Privacy Act and the aforementioned Data Sharing Agreement.

Globe Telecom launches Globe Future Makers (GFM) 2019, in collaboration with The Spark Project, as it takes its position as an accelerator for social innovators in the country’s start-up community.

Introduced in 2017, Globe Future Makers (GFM) is the social innovation program of Globe which aims to help build the ecosystem of support for startups which are using technology to solve the Philippines’ most challenging social problems.

Globe leads industry performance - Q1 net income up 43% YoY

Globe Telecom continues to post record numbers during the first three months of 2015, registering an impressive financial performance, highlighted by solid top-line growth, and EBITDA and NIAT at all-time high figures.

In its latest disclosure during the First Quarter Analysts’ Briefing, Globe officials revealed that the company generated P26.2 billion consolidated service revenues, 13% higher than 2014, while EBITDA level was at P11 billion, up 25% year-on -year. Its core net income was at P4.2 billion, a 25% rise compared to last year.

BPI offers free access to BPI Express Mobile app to Globe subscribers

Most downloaded finance app becomes even more accessible

The BPI Express Mobile app, the most downloaded finance app in the country, becomes even more accessible, as the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) today launches free access to the widely used app to Globe Telecom’s over 38 million prepaid, postpaid and TM customers.

From April 30 to August 31, 2014, Globe subscribers will enjoy having no data charges whenever they log on and transact using the BPI Express Mobile app.

“BPI has always been at the forefront of introducing new channels for our clients to access their accounts conveniently. The BPI Express Mobile app, our latest innovation, is doing very well. Since its re-launch in June last year, it has consistently been the number one downloaded finance app in the country,” says SVP Manuel C. Tagaza, Electronic Channels Group Head.
