Pru Life UK empowers more Muslim communities in Mindanao with its Adopt-a-Madrasah Program

Pru Life UK expands its Adopt-a-Madrasah program, empowering more Muslim communities in Mindanao, as part of its Takaful journey.  The Adopt-a-Madrasah learning modules will be rolled out in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Zamboanga.

In October 2024, Pru Life UK piloted its Adopt-a-Madrasah (Islamic school) program for three madaris in Davao City benefiting over 450 students and teachers with school materials. 

This year, the program aims to support 1,500 students and teachers in nine Islamic schools.

With international NGO ASSIST as its program implementing partner, the Adopt-a-Madrasah program aims to enhance capacity-building, financial literacy, climate and health awareness to foster resilient communities. The learning modules will include:

SLGS Philippines hosts tech workshop to empower the youth for Women’s Month

Sun Life Global Solutions (SLGS) Philippines, the Global Capability Centre of the global insurance and asset management leader Sun Life celebrated Women's Month by hosting “IT Girls: Empowering the Youth in their IT Careers”, a workshop designed to inspire and equip young women interested in pursuing careers in information technology. Sun Life Foundation and Save the Children Philippines bolster fight against malnutrition with launch of SUNBRIGHT+

Over 20,000 residents of Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa are set to receive a boost in their nutrition, as Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation, Inc. (Sun Life Foundation) and Save the Children Philippines launch SUNBRIGHT+RCEL (“Supporting Nanay in Exclusive Breastfeeding and Infant/Child Feeding for Growing Healthy Tsikiting + Responsive Caregiving and Early Learning”).

SUNBRIGHT+ is a program that integrates trainings on Responsive Caregiving and Early Learning, an approach to childrearing that improves child development and well-being through consistent and nurturing parent-child interaction. Pursuing gender-inclusivity, the program will also encourage greater participation of male partners and caregivers in childcare, as research shows that men's involvement enhances health and development outcomes for children.
